6 MANTRAS TO HELP YOU DEAL WITH FEAR AND ANXIETY

34

This article goes out to all the 20s out there, who sometimes have fear and doubt in their everyday life. It goes to all young woman out there, who think their decisions through about a thousand times. To all who spend too much time with the question „what if?“ and to those, who, like I do too, sometimes have a bad day, a bad week or even a bad month.
Some of us worry everyday, some only once a month and some only during difficult phases in their life. To have fear and doubt, to worry is part of our lives. The 20s are not easy. Hell not easy! It happens so much. So many first times such as: moving out, moving in a new city, studying, a new job, a new environment, heartbreak, finding love and so much more small and large events. In the mid-twenties, you set the course for your life and that can be quite scary. In the mid-twenties so many ways get separated and in the same breath there are new doors that open. Many decisions we make in this stage of our lives are of a great importance and some might not be important at all but that we don’t realize  to this point of time. Summed up the 20s are a real roller-coaster ride and everyone who denies that fact, is either living on a lonely island in the Indian ocean or has the Benjamin Button Syndrome.
What I'm trying to say is, that doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will and this you have to remember every day. Fear and worries are normal, just like ups and downs. You just have to learn how to handle them properly and to remind yourself every day what your dreams are.
Today I want to share with you 6 mantras that will hopefully help you to deal with fears about your future and motivate you to tackle things and to realize how important you are in this world.

1. AFTER RAIN THERE COMES SUN

Every one of us go through phases. Just a few weeks ago, I had such a bad week and a real creative blockade. I could not get one word on paper. I felt bad and was thinking about so much at the same time. But in times like this, you always have to remember that this feeling doesn't last forever. You just always recall that this bad feeling is not a permanent one. It’s not forever, you will get over it. Bad feelings come, bad feelings go. After the rain, sunshine is coming!

2. THERE IS NO PERFECT

Even though I am not a perfectionist, I have very high standards for myself. Again and again, it happens, naturally, that I can not fulfil these demands. Some times things don't work accordingly and i get very disappointed with myself and would prefer to put a blanket over my head. But just because something is not perfect, it does not mean it is bad or even wrong. Sometimes it turns out even better. Nobody is perfect and no one expects that from you. There is not only black and white in this world and it will never be. Allow yourself not to be perfect!

3. IT’S OKAY TO FEEL BAD

For some reason, feeling bad is still a shame. Do you have to always be in a good mood? The reality is different. Everybody feels bad from time to time. A topic which is hushed completely more or less. But it’s human, so why can’t we talk about it? Whether it is anger, sadness, anxiety or a depressive phase: it is okay not being okay. It is okay to feel bad, it is okay to cry and it’s okay to be sad. Don’t ever hide or ignore your feelings. That makes the whole thing even worse. Find somebody you trust and talk about it. Get out there and gain power to restart.

4. TAKE A DEEP BREATH

Don’t be afraid of things that COULD possibly happen. Take a deep breath (abdominal breathing) and focus on the present. Think of all the positive things in the past and focus on them. Don’t make yourself nervous. Try to stay calm, focus on your dreams and goals and breathe.

5. DO WHAT YOU LOVE!

Do what you love to do. Whether it is a profession, a hobby, a trip or something else – do what you love, do what you think is right and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it! The biggest things in life, don't happen by means of hands or head, but by passion!

6. ACCEPT YOUR OWN FAILURES

To fail is human. Everybody makes mistakes. That’s life! But it is not the fault of which we subsequently draw as much experience? For sure, positive incidences also bring us forward, but from our mistakes, we learn so much more which will help us to cope with other difficult situations in the future. So instead of being disappointed or angry, be thankful for the experience and learn something from it.
